Some say it can feel a tad thick upon application, but a quick pat into the skin gets rid of that feeling. Not only does it feel soft in the tube, but you'll have the same experience as you glide it onto your skin. The fact that this product has such a smooth, velvety texture in the absence of silicones and oils is no small feat. I guess the goal is a glow but not grease (I swear I don’t ask for much). In the summer, excess oil is definitely a concern for me, so I gravitate towards anything with a light texture and fresh result. However, I don’t like my skin to look flat or dull, so I am picky when it comes to anything with a matte finish. My skin changes depending on the time of year, but overall, it’s normal to combination and prone to mild congestion. It’s safe to say I had high hopes with this one. Being prone to large pores, blackheads, and mild congestion, this product was an exciting prospect for me-that, and I’m a huge fan of Milk Makeup already (the Sunshine Skin Tint, $42, is excellent). ![]() It’s almost halfway between skincare and a makeup product-you can use it as a primer or as an additional step in your skincare routine. As the name suggests, the stick promises to soften and refine the look of skin texture. I think it depends on what you’re looking for whether or not you’ll like this product. I think that I will have better luck with this product in the warmer seasons. I didn’t have any problems with it clinging to dry patches and it did sit well under makeup. Because this is a bit drying, I suggest prepping your skin very well with moisturizer ( especially if you have dry skin) since this is supposed to mattify the skin. I think this is nice to use when I’m just running out the house with no makeup as it did smooth over my complexion and give me a little bit of a healthy-looking glow. I find that this is more noticeable on bare skin but not so much under makeup. I also couldn’t see a huge difference with makeup over it. I don’t have a huge pore problem and it’s usually not a concern for me but the little I do have, I could still see some of them peeking through after using this blur stick. It did even out my skintone but in terms of a blurring effect, I feel like it didn’t really blur out my pores completely. Milk advises that you apply it after moisturizing, as you would any primer, for a flawless finish under foundation, or let the blurring effect convince you to forgo foundation. I did notice a slight “glow” from the stick. It’s easy to blend and has a gold glittery tone to it, but does indeed have a matte finish. MY THOUGHTS: This has a creamy texture and goes on very smooth. This silicone-free and oil-free formula goes on clear to create a golden, pearl-infused glow on all skin tones, without clogging pores. The blurring microsphere technology is supposed to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines so that makeup lays down better and wears longer. This new Blur Stick has a luminous matte finish with a golden pearl-infused formula to leave you with a glow, while blurring microspheres absorb oil and mattify. Apparently this is very similar to the original version. This is meant to provide both mattifying and luminizing properties, and is basically the best of both worlds. This primer is intended to give the effect of a “luminous matte skin.” ![]() Milk Makeup recently release a new addition to their best-selling Blur Stick, Luminous Blur Stick. ![]()
